I send this testimony in loving gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me. As a child I was far from strong and extremely nervous, and as I grew to womanhood repeated attacks of illness left me discouraged and despondent. Physicians said I had not a sound organ in my body; my nerves became so shattered that I would often lose control of my limbs, and I suffered constantly with my eyes. After trying everything in the way of material remedies, I came West, hoping that change of climate would relieve me. I seemed to gain for a while, only to be thrown back by a siege of liver trouble, enlarged spleen, etc., which left me, if possible, more discouraged than ever. I tried to bear my suffering patiently, as I had been taught to believe that it was God's will; but the time came when I rebelled. I however lived on, still hoping that I might find a God of love instead of the one who seemed so unjust, and these hopes were fully realized when, four or five years ago, I took up the study of Christian Science. In two months I laid off glasses which I had worn for ten years, and which physicians had told me I would always have to wear. One by one my ailments have disappeared, and I am now well and happy, although I had never spent a winter in my life without severe colds and earaches until I learned of this blessed truth.

A short time ago, our little daughter of nearly three years was struck on the forehead with a piece of iron, which made a bad gash. I heard her cry out, but as soon as I could get to her and remind her of the nearness of God, she stopped crying at once and the bleeding ceased. Three days later I removed a piece of plaster which we had put on after pressing the wound together, and found that it had healed perfectly, only a very small trace of the injury being visible, and that rapidly disappeared. I am also grateful for the quick healing of a badly injured shoulder.

We are grateful indeed to God, also to Mrs. Eddy for a religion which even the children can understand. Our blessings could not be numbered, and our only hope is to manifest our gratitude in our daily living.
