Probably no newspaper in the world has made such a fight for clean journalism as The Christian Science Monitor. In March of this year a day was set aside in which over a hundred meetings were held in different towns and a hundred newspapers participated in a consideration of this subject. Most newspapers in the general scramble for circulation and advertising have lost their ideals entirely, and some never had any, but the Monitor, a noted exponent of absolutely white journalism, is one of the most interesting general newspapers in print. Many people have the idea that it is strictly a religious sheet, but this is a mistake. it is a general newspaper, containing perfectly authentic accounts of home and foreign happenings, sporting page, home forum, fashion news, and is a big advertiser. The fact of the matter is, the world is getting educated morally and there are enough people of fine caliber to sustain and financially support clean newspapers, if the men were available to launch and maintain them.
