Hoping that my testimony will be of benefit to some one seeking the truth, I gladly give my experience. For years I had suffered with an organic trouble, which at times caused me great agony and distress. I have always been energetic and active, but often had, seemingly, more energy than strength, and while it was decidedly irksome to give up and go to bed, yet at times I had to submit. I had resorted to the usual remedies; had tried many physicians' advice and a great deal of their medicine. At last I consulted an eminent specialist in whom I had faith on account of his renown, but after trying his medicine without effect, he said the only thing left was an operation, and even then he could not promise relief, for any operation was an experiment.

I was thoroughly discouraged and disheartened, for I feared I would never be any better. It was at this time that Christian Science was recommended to me, and while I had little faith in its efficacy, as long as there was a possibility of help I consented. I had one week's treatment and was entirely cured. A few months later I laid aside eyeglasses which I had worn constantly for five years, and experienced no inconvenience or strain. I first investigated Science a year and a half ago, and have been perfectly well ever since, never missing a day's work, which is truly a great blessing. I travel thirty-eight miles twice a day to do work that requires both physical and mental exertion, and can truly say I never suffer from fatigue.

Naturally I am thankful for the physical healing, and for the relief from suffering and fear, but I am more deeply grateful for the spiritual uplift and for the knowledge of God—that He is an ever-present help in time of trouble. In business I find that by applying my understanding of the Principle of Christian Science, and by allowing divine Mind to guide me, I can work out any problem, either great or small. I have found it to be true, as Mrs. Eddy, our beloved Leader, tells us, that "divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need" (Science and Health, p. 494).
