A THOUGHT

R. W. MOCKRIDGE.

If for every kindly deed
Done to us from day to day,
We endeavored to take heed
And return for it full pay—

If for every ill-done deed
We received from day to day,
We forgave and then took heed
Good to substitute for pay—

What a happy state 't would be
For the world, for you, for me!
