I became interested in Christian Science several years ago...
I became interested in Christian Science several years ago through the healing of a friend. When I saw my friend she explained it as best she could, and I felt that it was the truth which Jesus taught. I had been a member of an orthodox church for a number of years, but had not been taught that the Christ could heal now as of old. I gladly accepted Christian Science as the truth. I was wearing glasses for astigmatism, had stomach trouble and other aliments, and at times my suffering was intense, as my work, which was sewing, made it hard for me to use my eyes. I had to stop work and remain in a darkened room for nine months. A specialist whom I went to see said that if I would rest my eyes for a time they would be all right; but after nine months they were no better, so I had to go to work again, but I was torture, and lamplight I could not endure. This was my condition when Christian Science found me. I accepted it as the truth, without thinking of my physical need, but after some days the thought came to me that if this could heal my friend it could heal me. I soon found that I had no need of glasses, and I gave up the medicine I was taking for stomach trouble and felt that I was well. How happy I was, and I did not know what had healed me; but soon after I understood it, and it has been my comfort and guide through many years. How can we be thankful enough to her through whom the light of divine Truth has come to us.
Sarah A. Goodsell, West Eaton, N. Y.
