"Rest for the Weary"
In accounting for the fact that not a few Christian Scientists were once identified with other churches, the editor of a leading denominational weekly has recently said, —
"These people were not fully satisfied with the average Christian experience. They longed for something beyond what they had. ...
"Of course some people ... will deny that the ordinary Christian experience is unsatisfactory; but a fairly wide acquaintance with Christian churches all over the land confirms our confidence in the essential truth of our statement. The average church member does not find much in his religion which really satisfies him. He finds something, but he does not find that which abundantly ministers to his spiritual needs, even while it enlarges them.
