I have for some time wanted to send a few words of thanks for the "helps by the way" that come through our literature. I have so much to be thankful for that words cannot express my deep feeling. I will tell of a demonstration that may help some one as it helped me. My baby was taken with erysipelas. I seemed unable to treat the child, so I told my husband he must treat him, but he refused, on the ground of being out and at work all day, so I had to undertake it. For two days the baby did not walk, and had a high fever. But by the third day he was perfectly healed. I was very thankful, for this experience taught me that I could help others, even if not entirely free myself.
I have four boys. Three of them have never tasted drugs, and the oldest was healed in Christian Science after all material means had failed. Truth has met their every need.
I have been freed from terror of thunder and lightning. A storm used to make me miserable. Christian Science is the greatest blessing that could have come into my life. I do not know where I would have been to-day without it. It found me in a seemingly helpless state of mind and body. We live fifty miles from any Christian Scientist. I feel thankful to God for giving us our Leader, who has done so much for mankind. We can never thank her enough for her labor of love.—Carrie H. Merritt, Duck Creek, N. C.
