Examination
It was recently remarked that Christian Scientists should pray daily to have sin uncovered in their thoughts, that it may be detected and cast out. In the Manual of the Mother Church, Christian Scientists are taught to pray each day, "Thy kingdom come, let the reign of Truth and Love be established in me, rule me, and rule out of me all sin."
The daily examination of thought is like a search-light turned upon consciousness, revealing to our astonished gaze many an error we were unaware of, many that we do not recognize to be such, until we pray most humbly and earnestly to have the Light shine into every corner and pierce every disguise; to show each thought as it actually is, that we may not be deceived by evil masking good.
As we realize that Christian Science is the Truth, infinite and eternal, how faithful should we be, who bear the name Christian Scientist, that our motives, words, and deeds answer the test of Love.
