"Work, Work, Work."
One of the greatest privileges of Christian Science is to see the way of progress unfold through the persistent effort of one's own individual work, to see the confusion of various conditions gradually disappear, and the harmony and order of Truth manifest itself; to see all things come about naturally. It is then that we get a "sweet foretaste" of fidelity's reward, "Thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many."
In "Miscellaneous Writings," page 340, we read, "Only by persistent, unremitting, straightforward toil; by turning neither to the right nor to the left, seeking no other pursuit or pleasure than that which cometh from God, can you win and wear the crown of the faithful." So as we rise, through the fidelity of our own work, to the understanding and demonstration of the one governing, divine Principle, we shall gain a clearer realization of that natural progress; that progress which is neither fast nor slow, but simply divinely natural.
There should be no anxiety or worry, nothing strained, overworked, or forced in our progress in Science. We should constantly strive to realize harmony; to be calm and natural under all circumstances; and to gain that poise on the firm foundation of Truth, and there to stand.
