Christian Science is not Hypnotism
Binghamton (N. Y.) Republican
New York, January 25, 1902.
To the Editor of the Republican.
I have read with interest the lecture of Dr. White on "Hypnotism," as reported in your valued paper of January 21. I believe your readers will be interested to know that the practice of Christian Science is totally unlike that of hypnotism, or of suggestion, as explained by Dr. White, and that its effects are likewise entirely different. I mention this because Dr. White is reported as saying: "Suggestion will cure these cases, and this accounts for what success there has been among Christian Scientists." In explanation of my statement, let me quote Dr. White himself.
