Scripture Illumined

In coming into Christian Science the illumination of Scripture has been to me one of its most beautiful features. So many passages in the Bible which before seemed meaningless and to have so little spiritual food in them that I had almost given them up as containing nothing for my practical use, through the light and understanding of our Leader's interpretation of the Scriptures have been made plain and beautiful, and through their comprehension we are able not only to heal the seeming physical discords of mortals, but to reflect more of the Christ Love to our fellow-men.

I once had a picture hung on my wall in such a poor light that I had failed to see its beauty, and did not care especially for it, although the production of a fine artist. I chanced to hang it in a better light one day, where the light fell more directly upon it, and I discovered the hidden beauties which the artist had brought out. Just so has this better light given to us through Mary Baker G. Eddy, revealed the before hidden beauties and spiritual thoughts which the Scriptures always contained. Can we express too much gratitude to God, and love for our Leader for this revelation?
