Divine Love
One of the things which impressed me most profoundly in the investigation of Christian Science was the high and exalted meaning given therein to the word Love. This of itself was indeed a revelation.
During the previous years of my mortal existence, this grandest of all words had been brought to my thought as something a little above and beyond the ordinary, and yet as something mortal and withal quite commonplace. It had only the environment of a material personality. I had read of love in books, magazines, newspapers, the Bible, and heard its glories eulogized from pulpit and platform, and yet none of these aroused my thought to the sublime possibilities of a Love redeemed from the bondage and thraldom of sensuous beliefs. This vitalizing, conscious realization of Love as Divine, was left to be revealed by Christian Science teaching, which demonstrates the spirituality of all things.
Our text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by our revered Leader, tells us "The great miracle, to human sense, is divine Love;" and that "Love is the liberator" from sin, sorrow, sickness, and all sensuous fears and beliefs. That disciple whom Jesus loved declared, "God is love." What a sublime truth! What an inspiring thought! To realize this is to dwell "in the secret place of the Most High."
