Make Your Own Climate

THE following editorial in the Utica Daily Press, is along Christian Science lines, and worthy of careful perusal and thought by all:—

"To those who have stuck all summer to their posts of duty, who have turned deaf ears to inviting calls from mountain and seashore, it may perhaps be gratifying to know that people who annually make pilgrimages to some health resort are victims of a fad. This, in effect, is the statement of one of the speakers at the convention of weather bureau officials. The principal components of the air, he declared, are practically in the same proportion the world over, and it has not been shown that excessive humidity or absence of moisture are specific remedies. The change of climate so often recommended works benefit, we are told, by its influence on the senses. Mind is victorious over matter. 'One may fight a winning battle against disease in almost any climate.' All one wants, probably, is to have control of one's senses and get into the right environment. Only foolish folk are compelled to seek the right environment away from home. Happiness ever flees from those who pursue. Make your own climate and make it congenial. Don't be bothered by tiresome trips to other zones where other influences are exerted. Live above the weather."
