Seating of Strangers

THE Church Manual contains a by-law relating to the seating of strangers which should not be overlooked or forgotten. It is on page 40 of the latest edition, and is as follows:—

"THE LOCAL MEMBERS' WELCOME. Sect. 2. It shall be the duty and privilege of the local members of the Mother Church to give their seats, if necessary, to strangers who may come to attend the morning services."

The spirit of this by-law should be carefully carried out at all Christian Science meetings, including mid-week meetings and lectures. Strangers desiring to hear of Christian Science should have the opportunity to do so, and all Christian Scientists should be on the alert to see that they have seats. The fact that many meetings are crowded should add to the desire to make room for strangers.

Let the Scriptural injunction with reference to seats in the synagogues be borne constantly in mind.
