Lameness Healed by Christian Science

I have thought for years that I would write something to the Sentinel, and as often have deferred it, thinking I had nothing of interest to send. Yet I find something helpful in everything which appears in either the Sentinel or Journal.

I have been studying Christian Science for about six years, after combating and ridiculing it as only ignorant mortal mind can, even after I knew it was true. I did not come into Science for the healing myself but through the help an only sister had received. Her relief came so slowly that it made very little impression on me for some time, yet the seed must have been sown, for soon after her departure from my house I began to read "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," and have continued ever since.

About that time a family came to Santa Cruz who were interested in Christian Science. We met together on Sunday morning to study the lesson, and sometimes two or three more would join us. In the summer we sometimes had eighteen or twenty. Finally one of Mrs. Eddy's loyal students came, and we organized a society, and Christian Science has remained in Santa Cruz ever since.
