Retrospective

The annual Communion season of the Mother Church in 1900 was an occasion long to be remembered by the thousands of loyal Christian Scientists who were permitted to enjoy the many blessings afforded by the occasion. Beginning with the preliminary meetings on Saturday, June 2, when upwards of twenty-three hundred members were admitted to the Mother Church, and concluding with the grand Wednesday evening meetings in Tremont Temple and Lorimer Hall, an account of which is given in this issue of the Sentinel, every moment was filled with good things for all who were here to participate.

The workers came from all parts of the Field bringing their sheaves with them, and because they came to give of what they had gathered from experience they were prepared to receive of the great good that had blessed the lives of their brothers and sisters in Christ.

Our Leader was not present in person, but she sent us a strong, loving, and exceedingly helpful message which was the important feature around which clustered the unnumbered other blessings of the occasion. Five times was the message read on Communion Sunday, that might have the blessed privilege of hearing what our Leader had to say to her loyal and faithful followers. It were useless for us to attempt to descibe the feelings of those who were permitted to hear it. Those who were not present will soon have the privilege of reading the message for themselves, as it will be issued in pamphlet form, and will then receive more fully of the blessings in store for them.
