Christian Science in Obstetrics

I did not come to Christian Science through healing. I had possessed a copy of Science and Health for several years before I became a Scientist, and all I read seemed good common sense. It has proven to be such in every instance of my four years experience. After I took a stand for Christian Science I discovered plenty of spiritual healing to do, however.

I have found that I have made progress in many ways, especially in relying on Principle to guide my family and myself. I had been inclined to do all the planning, and to arrange matters for days to come which maybe would never materialize.

I gave birth to a baby girl with no help whatever but Christian Science, the healer not even being present. I was on my feet when the baby was but six hours old. The second day I walked up and down a long hall, also the third day. The fourth day I put my clothes on and went to meals. The eighth day I drove two hours or more. The tenth day I was shopping half the day and made no difference in my usual habits from that time. I ate everything I pleased from the time my baby was an hour old. This was much pleasanter than to be restricted to food usually allowed at that time. Many of my friends who were not Christian Scientists said that in time I would feel ill effects, but they were mistaken, as a year and a half has gone by and I am still perfectly well.
