Reasons for Their Faith
Sun
Out on Gamage Avenue, beyond the hill and the pines, lives the Reader of the only Christian Science Church in Lewiston or Auburn, Reuel F. Gordon. The Sun reporter called at the pleasant home the other day, and was met by Mrs. Gordon, a sweet-faced, healthy woman, who practises as well as her husband.
They have one son now, little Forest, who is about seven years old. He was never ill in his life. Once he had whooping cough, but his parents treated him, and he was not sick.
Said Mrs. Gordon: "A short time ago he was playing with nails barefoot, and stepped on one of the nails. I had to pull twice to get it out, and the wound was half an inch or so deep. I treated it, and he soon stopped crying. In ten minutes he was out playing again. The wound was not sore, and the next day you could hardly tell where it had been. He never took any medicine in his life. Christian Science has always been effectual in helping him out of his childish troubles."
