Many Blessings Received
To me the light of Truth and understanding came very slowly. I was a dissatisfied mortal for a great many years, and a feeling of unrest and uneasiness dwelt within me constantly. My good mother and a beloved sister, who were Christian Scientists (the latter having been healed after all material remedies had failed), used to say, "When all else has failed you, come to Christian Science, and you will find peace, comfort, health, and happiness," and I have found it so.
Two years ago I was in a state of nervous prostration bordering on insanity; I had not slept at night for months; I had no appetite; I was disagreeable, and it was almost impossible for any of my help to stand my abuse at times. In addition to my nervous disability, I had astigmatism, having worn glasses for five years. I used tobacco excessively; I had a fiery temper, and a sense of jealousy developed beyond all my control. One by one these errors yielded to Truth and were replaced by health and sunshine. The physical healing, however, is a trifle compared with the spiritual uplifting and peace of mind realized. I apply the thought to all the affairs of my life, both business and social.
I have from one hundred and ten to one hundred and thirty-five people under my management, and it now comes easy to help them and to be patient, kind, and gentle. One of my good friends in Christian Science, and one from whom I have had many benefits, has often said that a business man's testimony was always far-reaching, and I trust this may reach some one that needs it as badly as I did.
