Christ, the Comforter

Once the mourning Mary wentEarly, in the dawn,To the tomb of Jesus—rent,And the rock withdrawn.

Substance Eternal

As dawn so surely brings to lightThe dear, familiar thingsThat perish not although the nightEnfold them 'neath her wings,So nought of substance or of life,In God's majestic scheme,Is lost in self-destroying strife,Or touched by error's dream.
