Sports—what really counts?

Live audio chat with Mark Swinney, C.S.B.

Questions on a variety of sporting challenges came in from site visitors in many parts of the world—South Africa, New Zealand, England, and the United States. Drawing on his experience as a former baseball professional, Mark talks about healing solutions to sports injuries, pressures in the midst of games, and physical deterioration among retired athletes. He addresses bodily exercise versus spiritual conditioning, performance-enhancing drugs, excessive money in pro sports, and the recent "Tim Tebow phenomenon." Mark encourages participants to break down mental barriers and "love the action of God through you." He says: "If we think of ourselves as the conduit, the stage on which the qualities of God are presented, we’ll be on the right track. Our oneness with God is what really counts.”
