Breaking the bonds of corruption

Live audio chat with Kevin Graunke, C.S.B.

In his responses to site visitors, Kevin emphasizes the power of God to support anyone who is faced with temptation or is under pressure to behave dishonestly. He said, "As we exercise our God-given dominion over sin and corruption, we will have the wisdom and courage to act rightly in every situation." A commitment to honesty is a guiding and saving light. He adds, however, that to make a difference, we need to go deeper in our prayers, to see that behind every corrupt act or attitude is more than greed. It's fear that is often driven by the pressure and competition at work, school, and sometimes even in the home.

Among the topics covered by the questions are: prayer for honesty in government both in terms of policies and among politicians, identity theft, plagiarism. Kevin is asked about whether he has seen any evidence that prayer helps to reform government, how someone can give up corrupt behavior, and how to deal with fear of others who are involved with corruption.
