Ten years after the September 11 attacks: A new day
Rebecca Odegaard, C.S.B. and Tony Lobl, C.S.
Rebecca Odegaard witnessed the 9/11 attack on the World Trade Center in New York City, and Tony Lobl was in London during the bomb attacks on the bus and subway system on July 7, 2005, so they are speaking out of their own experience. Even on the days of the attacks they both committed to making a spiritual contribution and to supporting healing and progress. They bring out the importance of refusing to yield our thoughts to fear, hatred, and polarization when such things happen. They bring out the importance of recognizing the spiritual nature of each individual, of seeing God's goodness as ever present and protective, no matter what seems to be going on humanly.
Site visitors ask how to prevent evil thoughts from influencing people, to pray for and recognize Islamic neighbors as God's children. They want to know where God was during these events and why He didn't prevent them. Two visitors share their experiences and thoughts.
