WALK IN THE LIGHT

When I am walking towards the light,There are no shadows to affright,The shadows then are all behind,And out of sight is out of mind.

ARBUTUS

Dainty harbinger of spring,Pure and pale and pink and sweet,How your myriad voices singFrom the moss beneath my feet.

From Church

The demand for church

I like to think of each church that grows up in a community as that community's answered prayer for the presence of the saving Christ—the message of God's love for humanity.

SAFETY

In Thee, the Life, the Truth, the Light, Of all existence pure,From secret foe, from tempter's blight,In Thee I rest secure.

EASTER

This Easter morn, O Son of God,Abide with me;For shadows fall from the dark crossOn CalvaryUpon my path; and Love aloneCan make them flee.

THE VOICE OF TRUTH

Lead on and upward, O thou voice divine!Full well we know that matter's temporal claimWeighs not one jot against our heavenward course,And now we fain would prove it.

THINK OF—TO-DAY

In asking for to-morrow,What we think to-morrow's need,We forget to-day, its sweetnessAnd the fulness of its meed.

COMMUNION

With Thee, O God!How beauteous is the morn! What glory hath the dawn,Thy presence near!Wakened by Thy dear voice,How doth my heart rejoiceWhen nature's morning songBursts on my ear.

THE STORM STILLED

Dark was the night, and full of doubt and sorrow,God's smile was hidden neath a load of fears ;Each day wore on in dread of the to-morrow,And all life's sunshine was absorbed in tears.

"ILLUSIONS."

Sickness and pain and death, if true they be,Must be a part of Truth.
