The Upward Path

Let me not be a channel, Love divine,For any secret hate or open strife:The thought that leads to Thee, though sore beset,Must hold one in the sense of perfect life.

Protection

Wondrous the might of God! Held in the graspOf omnipresent Mind the worlds remain.

Prayer

'Tis not self-justifying, eloquent refrain,Nor skeptic asking, nor the empty mightOf repetition, long and loud and vain;It is the constant striving to do right.

Sunlight

Fast racing clouds enveil a wintry sky;Through trees down-bent the storm winds moanand sigh,

Communion

Prepare my heart, O God,To worship Thee aright; Then shall I sing Thy praiseHowever dark the night.

The Secret

This is the secret of the joyful heart:To know, beyond the shadow of a doubt,True happiness and peace are quite apartFrom mortal seeming; Love is round about.
