"My thoughts"

My thoughts are not as Thine; but I would fainSo cleanse my mortal sense with sense divine,So strive to wash away the worldly stainOf earth's contagion, that this heart of mineMay seem a temple meet, a fane, a shrine,A cloister pure for Thine all-cleansing SpiritThere to abide; so may Thy flame refineMy fitful thoughts until at length they meritA sinless heritage, such as Thy saints inherit.
