Soul

In Thee, O Soul, so glorious and free,Infinite, perfect, ageless, deathless, vast,I see all being, all that is to be,Or has been, or is now—the present, past,And future in one perfect changeless whole,O glorious Soul!

The Practitioner

Oh , helping hand, for thee I reachAs floweret seeks the light;A glow of truth, a warmth of love,Thou bringest to my night.

Rest

To have no fear—To go about my work with footsteps light; To sing a song of joy from morn till night; To leave all care to Him who clothes the flower; To know that Love, and Love alone, is power;Oh, this is rest!

"He that overcometh"

As Jesus fasted in the wildernessAnd prayed for strength, the tempter came to himPrepared to overcome the pure in heart,And murmured, knowing him to be an hungered:If it be true thou art the Son of God,Command these stones that they be turned to bread,For truly thou hast fasted long enough.

Recognition

Hath life become a seeming blank to thee,Devoid of love, where love did once abound?

Stilled

When heavy clouds of sense hang low,And restless thought runs to and fro,   Not knowing where to look,   I read the little book *   Till faith unfolds her wings,   Then soars aloft—and sings.

The Voice

Across life's turbulent and angry seaA voice is carried on love's wings to me;In accents penetrating inmost soulIt tells of joy and peace and holy things,Of cruel thongs released and freedom won—The voice of Truth.

From a Far Country

Whether you sail a foam-swept, lifting sea,Or broad wings lift you out along the air,Or thought runs troubled through a long, dark night,Remember this—that God is everywhere:

Security

Fear not, dear heart,Though waves run highAnd winds are wild;Love's guiding hand is ever nighHis precious child.

The Mother Church—A Psalm

Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Israel,For the Lord loveth thee with tender mercy; He doeth great things from everlasting.

The Christ

Lift up the Christ in every hour of every day,That men may see in dark'ning gloom a shining ray,And find within that radiant light the better way.
