Compassion

What was your secret, Lord, when miracles you wrought,The secret when victoriously you foughtAll evil, or the little children caught     Into your arms, O Lord?

Watching and Praying

To live, dear Lord, as thou would'st have me live;To pray each day, "Thy kingdom come,"—to giveMy every thought to help, to heal, to bless,—Oh, may I learn this prayer of selflessness!

Then Came the Dawn

As flowers droop beneath the pelting rain,So, in adversity's correcting showers,I bowed my face to earth and felt the painOf disappointed hopes and tear-filled hours.

Witnesses

Where dwellest thou?

What Can I Give?

In gratitude that perfect Love is here,Bestowing every blessing full and free,I ask, What can I give, O Love most dear?

Love Leadeth Me

O Love divine that leadeth meO'er mountains high, through valleys deep,No thought of fear my heart shall fillWhile watch and ward Thy angels keep.

Hitherto

Hitherto the promise has not failed us;Hitherto Thy strength has been our stay;We felt the guiding hand of Love and wisdom—We found the manna ready, day by day.

A Prayer

Oh , give me understanding, Lord,That I may goTo those who have not heard Thy name,That they may know.

Supply

Long years ago in the still morning lightA boat lay rocking on the waters bright,And fishermen in deep and silent thoughtInto the ship their broken nets had brought.

Forgiving

Do the Pharisees malign thee?

Sight

The blind receive not sight: they do not seeBecause they look for light where none can be,Through eyes which suffer blight unknowingly.
