In the Christian Science Bible Lesson

Staying on God’s path

If it sometimes seems as though we’re not following or can’t find the right path in business, a relationship, or a desired healing, we can pause, turn to God, and let Him show us His way.
I found that in seeing myself as the expression of God, divine Love, I was giving others the opportunity to see me that way, too. And I found that I was able to see and honor each individual’s unique identity while recognizing, above all, our brotherhood and sisterhood as children of God.
Isn’t this truly what Christmas and New Year’s—and in fact, every day—are all about? We are breaking the grip of fascination with the finite, mortal story of ourselves as having a beginning, middle, and end, and singing the new song of divine Science.

Scared to fly?

In that moment in the air, I realized this was an opportunity to have another healing experience by praying.

My prayer of “Yes”

A commitment to look for and say yes to the good, to the light, fueled my effort to know the truth about what I am.
My class assignment, rather than exposing me as an academic fraud, helped me see that it is the Mind that is God that provides inspiration, order, and clarity of thought.

Leveling wealth with honesty

I was not being honest with myself. I knew the farm was not my right place, but I stayed there because I believed it was the fastest route to wealth and success.

Christmas wisdom

Am I following the path of wisdom by growing in the understanding of Christ, the spiritual idea of God?
Listening for the Christ in quiet moments helps me to yield to the Christmas message that God, divine Love, is supreme, governing us all, and this comforts and heals.
When we think and act with any of the beautiful qualities that Jesus so fully lived, we will have a Christmas full of Christ.
Being childlike is not being childish—it’s not about a lack of maturity. It’s about our receptivity to good and refusal to allow skeptical tendencies to crush out a recognition of the presence of divine Love, good, in our lives.
I needed to find a higher meaning of Christmas—the celebration of Christ’s appearing rather than the activity of seasonal festivities and family traditions.
