The
realization that man reflects the nature of God, who is infinite Spirit, Life, and Love, awakens thought from the belief of life and intelligence in matter to the true idea of being.
Many
of the facts of being which Christ Jesus taught were so contrary to the beliefs and so far above the understanding of the times in which he lived that he found it necessary to pierce the unenlightened minds of his listeners with parables, thus making an entrance for the truths he taught.

Gospels record that during Christ Jesus' three years' ministry on earth there were many instances of his casting out devils, evil spirits, unclean spirits, dumb or talking spirits.
