Dear Reader, 

Why didn’t it work out? 

Facing a big disappointment, this author wrestled with the question of how something so right could end up being so wrong. The answers she got as she prayed can help all of us when we’re facing questions about why something that seemed “meant to be” didn’t work out.

If you feel like a victim

She felt like a victim and—true confession—identifying that way kind of made her feel special. But when she started learning about Christian Science, this author realized she wanted to give up the victim identity for something infinitely better.
One Saturday my family had plans to go bowling, but that morning I woke up with a stomachache.
I have found a clearer appreciation for the spiritual qualities I have seen in others. 
Dismayed or hateful thinking doesn’t exist in God’s creation.
Christ is the idea of God, good, guiding generations of humanity, regardless of race, culture, gender, or religion.

Be a first responder 

Instant, heartfelt, understanding prayer is a powerful force for good and an effective help.
Right—spiritual—thinking enables us to recognize God’s goodness and power.
