To be faithful means to keep promises, to be true to your word. It makes me think about how God is faithful to His promise to love us and take care of us—no matter what.

Dropping mental baggage

Loving does not mean carrying another’s problem. And mental baggage is heavy only if we consent to carrying it. But if we don’t pick it up, there isn’t anything to drop.

Saved in a blizzard

From fear to freedom

From adapting to breathing with an air tank to responding to underwater emergencies, this college student found that her scuba class was way more challenging than she had anticipated. How would she ever pass the final test?
Instead of bemoaning the rise and seeming power of this or that particular evil in our church, our workplace, our community, or society at large, we can take up our spiritual weapons and take a stand against despair.

The problem left immediately—no more coughing, no more shortness of breath. I was free.

Christ Jesus’ words to a woman he healed came to mind: “Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity.” 

When God spoke to me

In spite of the severe climb, it should have been an uneventful weekend of rock climbing for this author. Instead, she experienced a dramatic example of God’s protection.
There is no break or pause in the Soul-derived joy, strength, wisdom, goodness, and peace that are the very core of what we are.
Most people associate Christ with Jesus, and rightly so. But Christ is so much more than Jesus’ title; it expresses the eternal divine nature that Jesus uniquely embodied and that he demonstrated in his daily life and healing works.

Service with a smile

The thought came to let go of my “getting” attitude. Rather than asking “What can I get out of church?” I could embrace a more giving spirit.
