Signs of the Times

[Editorial in the Columbia Gazette, Lake City, Florida]
One newspaper, the Progress-Enterprise, Lunenburg, has printed voluntarily several religious articles from the Monitor.
In a recent issue a doctor is reported to have said that Christian Scientists are among the "most cruel parents, who do not believe in pain.
In the column entitled "The Editor's Letter," sent to the Pekin Daily Times on June 21 and 22, there occur some references to Christian Science obviously written in a friendly spirit, and with a desire to present facts.
The story of an attempt by a so-called Christian Scientist to cure tuberculosis by snake bite, as stated in Sunday's Times of Ceylon, is misleading, as the method said to have been employed is diametrically opposed to the teachings of Christian Science, and no real Christian Scientist would resort to such means to effect a cure.
Thank you for the kindly reference to Christian Science in your issue of March 13, commending the tenderness and love taught by this religion.
