Cut on head quickly healed

One night a number of years ago, I was making a spaghetti dinner for my family and I reached up into the cupboard to get a dish for the noodles. As I did so, a large glass lid fell on my head. It startled me and I called out. Then I noticed my head was bleeding quite a bit. I put a cloth on my head to stop the bleeding, then finished preparing dinner.

It occurred to me that I had better get control of my thought. It was natural for me to turn to prayer, and I did so immediately, affirming my oneness with God. I also wanted to maintain a sense of normalcy so as not to alarm my husband and daughters.

After dinner I felt a little dizzy, so I went to another room and called a friend for help through prayer. As I hung up the phone, a phrase from the definition of “man” on page 475 of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy came to thought: “the conscious identity of being as found in Science.” It occurred to me that I could never lose my consciousness, because all consciousness is in Mind and I reflect that one true consciousness.
