Healing is a wholly spiritual activity
At any time and in any place, the healing power of Christ is immediately available.
In the Bible’s record of Christ Jesus’ ministry, healing occurred in several cases after Jesus touched the sick or diseased individual. For example: “There was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself. And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and said unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity. And he laid his hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God” (Luke 13:11–13).
In another case: “When Jesus was come into Peter’s house, he saw his wife’s mother laid, and sick of a fever. And he touched her hand, and the fever left her: and she arose, and ministered unto them” (Matthew 8:14, 15).
Based on the above accounts, it’s possible to conclude that it was Jesus’ touch that healed these individuals. In some approaches to spiritual healing, this is known as the “laying on of hands.” But what about those with whom Jesus had no physical contact whatsoever—including some folks who were miles away when the healing took place?
