Being a living edition of Science and Health

Originally published in Portuguese

While I was listening to the 2025 Annual Meeting of The Mother Church, held on June 2—where the 150th anniversary of the first edition of the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, was noted—these words by a member of the Christian Science Board of Directors touched me deeply: “We need to be working to be that anniversary edition of Science and Health by how we study it, how we live it, how we prove it, how we share it, how we promote its ideas through our lives.”

How wonderful to think that we can celebrate the enduring publication of our textbook by being a living edition of it! That is exactly what I have striven for since then—by more conscientiously applying concepts from the book in my life.

The end of the school year—late May to early June—can be quite busy and challenging for me. As an elementary school teacher, in a very short period of time I need to write reports on my students’ development and meet with each parent to discuss their child’s progress.
