Freed

I was freed from prison
long before I stopped seeing the bars—
the Science of Christ proved my innocence.

Now I walk with unshackled feet, unrestrained hands.
Christly light overcame the darkness in thought,
the fear and doubt that held me captive.
I welcomed healing, communed with Love, God.
Divine Mind freed me; Truth raised me up.
I am shining like the sun above.

It’s correction of thought—the new view
of each one in God’s image, sinless—
that reforms and releases the prisoner.
“Reformation cancels the crime,” 1
reveals man’s native goodness,
that he may go home
and serve.
