Knowing that God is good brings healing

As I left my daughter’s house one afternoon, I felt nauseated, so I started to go back inside. I then felt dizzy and leaned on the railing so as not to fall. My daughter rushed over and pulled up a bench for me to sit on, and I passed out.

When I came to, I had little breath or energy to speak, but I whispered, “Call my practitioner.” At this point, my daughter felt she could leave my side long enough to call a Christian Science practitioner and my other daughter. Then she sat with me and began sharing helpful Bible verses.

Although I was unable to pray much for myself right then, I was comforted by knowing that others were praying for me, and I wasn’t a bit afraid. One of my favorite Bible verses is “In him we live, and move, and have our being” (Acts 17:28). I know that because we are in and of God, Spirit, we cannot also be in or of matter or a material body and can experience only what God—Life, Truth, and Love—is: all good. Therefore, I knew I remained upright and free.
