I prayed more diligently, affirming the all-good God and His perfect creation as the only reality and the consequent unreality of what appeared to be a serious problem. I strongly acknowledged my true, divine identity as the image and likeness of God, Spirit.
I wasn’t attempting to deal with an intimidating illness with wishful thinking. Rather, I committed to understanding spiritually the assertions I was making in prayer.
I was inspired by these words in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures: “Metaphysics resolves things into thoughts, and exchanges the objects of sense for the ideas of Soul” (Mary Baker Eddy, p. 269). This led me to reconsider the “objects of sense” called arms.
