How do we act when unexpectedly a metaphorical lion appears ready to attack us? I once had to face one in the form of a hearing problem.

I had great difficulty with my hearing. It seemed one ear was obstructed. I was immediately cured through prayer—through the practical application of the spiritual truths taught by Christ Jesus—and then I could hear again without any hindrance. However, the problem returned much more aggressively—to the point where I couldn’t hear anything at all. I was also bothered by a loud ringing in one ear.

I knew this discordant condition was not part of God’s allness, and that I, as a reflection of perfect Mind, could only reflect and express divine perfection. Aware that I couldn’t be made to accept a lie of material sense, I thought, “Well, this is a good opportunity to put into practice the healing power of Christian Science, which is ever available.”
