Healing after severe fall
Originally published in Spanish
Several years ago we drained our in-ground pool to get it ready for painting. One night I was walking along the edge of the pool to a meeting room at the back of our patio, when my sandal caught on a tile. I lost my balance and fell into the empty concrete pool at the deepest part, five and a half feet down.
I landed with all my weight on one foot, and the impact on my heel was severe and pain went up my leg. I couldn’t stand, so I crawled to the pool steps, affirming the truth that I am a creation of God and always lovingly cared for by Him. From there I was able to drag myself out of the pool and into the house, where my wife was.
She had not heard me fall and was very frightened when she saw me. She helped me to a chair, where I continued prayerfully affirming that as a son of God, I am spiritual, not material. I reasoned that in reality I am always governed by God’s law of harmony, and that as a spiritual idea, loved by God, I could not actually suffer injury or pain.
