Proof of spiritual progress
I want to express my gratitude for a quick healing I had after being stepped on by our horse. I was working in the arena behind our house, cleaning up. Our mare, Rory, came over to see what I was doing and inadvertently bumped into me and stepped on my left foot. I fell over backward and hit the ground with my head. It was startling and quite painful.
That week, I had been studying numerous citations in the Bible and the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, to help me get a deeper understanding of God’s nature as Love. So as I was falling, I immediately reached out in thought to acknowledge divine Love’s constant care. My thought was so full of ideas about divine Love’s care for man that it was natural to seek and feel God’s loving presence and care.
I got up a few seconds later, but the pain in my head and foot made it difficult to move. So I just stood there praying, reaching out in thought to more thoroughly feel the presence of Love. In about a minute, I was able to walk and went to the house, while continuing to silently express gratitude for divine Love’s constant care.
