Dominion over symptoms of illness
While visiting family members recently, I went for a walk around their neighborhood. I was enjoying the beautiful day when I suddenly began to feel very ill.
At that moment, strong healing messages flooded my thought. I recognized these assurances as God-given: that I live, move, and have my being (see Acts 17:28) in the kingdom of heaven, God’s infinite realm of perfection and harmony, and that therefore symptoms of sickness were not real. I returned to the house to listen more closely to what divine Mind, God, was telling me.
As I sat quietly in my room, I remembered an article from The Christian Science Journal titled, “Practicing Christian Science in a medicalized culture” (Deborah Huebsch, August 2023). It recounts the experience of a man who unexpectedly became incapacitated while on a business trip in a remote part of Asia. He immediately started praying. What impressed me was that even though he was partially immobilized and in pain, he was certain that the spiritual qualities he naturally expressed as the child of God, Spirit, could not be diminished or destroyed. He was quickly and completely healed.
