Pick me up
A young child reaches both arms up
To the caregiver with him.
It is a natural thing to do—
A gesture, a request, a plea
For help, for care, for closeness,
For a better, more elevated view
Secure in larger, loving arms.
So we, “like tired children,”
Turn ourselves “to the arms of divine Love,” 1
Confident in the comfort and care
Of our Father-Mother God.
