No trace of facial growth
Originally published in German
About a year ago a mark appeared on my right cheek. It didn’t cause any pain, but it grew very quickly. At first, I assumed it would go away on its own, but then I became fixated—I couldn’t ignore it. A pharmacist who happened to notice it urged me to see a doctor: “It could be who knows what,” she said. One of my family members had had a similar growth some years ago, and I became fearful.
I contacted a Christian Science practitioner and asked for prayer, which was lovingly provided. During our phone call, I immediately felt safe, as if we were with Christ Jesus himself, and I could breathe deeply and freely.
I was reminded of quotations from the Bible and the writings of Mary Baker Eddy that I hadn’t considered for a long time, but which perfectly met my need. For example: “There is but one primal cause. Therefore there can be no effect from any other cause, and there can be no reality in aught which does not proceed from this great and only cause” (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 207). This helped me realize that anything unlike God can have no reality.
