The Magdalene story
She turned herself toward Christ,
bearing witness to God, Truth and Life.
Aware at once of his tender voice,
she dropped all mourning and strife.
The words he spoke and lessons he taught
became tangible and real—
no more a theory or faith alone,
but a glory she could feel.
To turn means to change, alter, or shift.
Can’t we do that every day
as the Christ reveals the most glorious truths
to gently guide our way?
I cherish the Magdalene story
of courage, humility, grace,
as I listen to hear Christ’s tender voice,
till I see God face to face.
