Anger healed and pain gone
My job as a receptionist puts me at the center of many things happening daily at a private high school, where throughout the day I address needs of students, parents, faculty, and staff.
Once, as the school prepared for a reunion weekend, the week leading up to it was filled with challenges, including stressful meetings and lack of communication. Even before the alumni arrived, I felt frustrated and stressed about the many people who would be coming through the doors while I still had to handle my everyday responsibilities.
I tried to keep a positive thought, but when the alumni arrived, I found myself being pulled in multiple directions, and by the end of the first day I was exhausted. I woke up the next morning feeling angry and not wanting to go to work. I was running late and decided not to take time that morning for any “spiritual prep,” which usually included listening to the Daily Lift podcast from christianscience.com. I left quickly, expecting to slog through the day.
