You are a sentinel
Dear Reader,
What does it mean to be a sentinel? We’ve been asking that question of ourselves and our readers to more deeply understand the unique place the Sentinel holds in the world and what it has to offer humanity.
After starting the weekly publication she later described as “intended to hold guard over Truth, Life, and Love” (The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany, p. 353), Mary Baker Eddy called for a redesign of the magazine and launched it under a new name, Christian Science Sentinel, with the change announced to readers in the January 26, 1899, issue. Why the new title?
