Our part: Active witnesses
Evil has no light to light the stage.
It has no word with which to write the page
of script for role in tragicomedy.
Its scenes delusions are.
We never were actor or audience,
never drawn into the masquerade
of mortal sense or sensual dream.
We always have been God’s beloved,
His child, secure in His omnipotence.
And as we witness to His active care,
Life, Truth, and Love alone direct our way:
Lit by God’s love, we live eternal day.
—Eleanor Winyard
