Painful burn quickly healed
I was cooking up a fresh batch of hummingbird syrup—something I do every two or three days during the summer months. I had just removed the pot of boiling syrup from the stove and was pouring it into a pitcher in the sink, when the pot slipped and boiling hot syrup spilled all over my left hand and my clothing.
After cleaning most of the hot, sticky syrup off of the countertops, the floor, and myself, I sat down and began to realize how badly I’d been burned. The pain and discomfort were very intense.
I have learned that the most effective thing I can do to relieve and heal pain or resolve a difficult situation is to pray according to the teachings of Christian Science. I realized I needed to quiet my thoughts so I could pray.
